How it works: Lotteries across Canada
Atlantic Lottery is mandated to operate as a regulated lottery in the four Atlantic Provinces, but did you know there are other lotteries across Canada? Here are the territories that are covered:
- Atlantic Lottery — Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador
- Loto-Québec —Québec
- Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) — Ontario
- Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) — Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, as well as Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut
- British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) — British Columbia
Each are regulated to deliver products in their respective jurisdictions only.
National Games -vs- Regional Games
Some games are managed regionally (think Poker Lotto, Lotto 4, Atlantic 49, Bucko, Keno, TAG and Twist), and some are offered nationally (think Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, and Daily Grand). Games that are offered nationally are managed on behalf of the regional lotteries by the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation.
In a nutshell, this means that regional draws are conducted on-site by Atlantic Lottery, and national draws happen at the Interprovincial Lottery Corporations offices in Toronto.
From outside of Atlantic Canada?
Prize-winning Atlantic Lottery tickets (for regional or national draws) must be validated and claimed in the jurisdiction in which they were bought. If you have questions about a ticket you think is a winner, contact the appropriate lottery for more information.Brought to you by Atlantic Lottery Responsible & Regulated How it works: Lotteries across Canada Atlantic Lottery is mandated to operate as a regulated lottery in the four Atlantic
