About the Nebraska Lottery

The Nebraska Lottery was established by the state legislature in 1993. In 2004, an amendment was passed to distribute lottery proceeds to the Nebraska Education Improvement Fund, the Nebraska Environmental Trust Fund, the Nebraska State Fair, and the Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund. More than $10.6 million was distributed to these causes at the beginning of 2020, and more than $770 million has been distributed in quarterly transfers since the inception of the NE Lottery in September 1993.
