It’s Easy to Play
Pick Your Numbers
Select 5 from 69 numbers and 1 out of 26 numbers for the Powerball. Use a Playslip to choose your numbers or check the QP (Quick Pick) box for randomly generated numbers. Or, simply ask your retailer for a Powerball Quick Pick!
Buy Your Ticket
Ticket buyers must be at least 18. Powerball tickets cost $2 and are available at most Colorado retailers. Add the Power Play option for an extra $1 per line of play and multiply your winnings up to ten times the original amount (excluding jackpot and Match 5 prize)*. The Power Play multiplier (2, 3, 4, 5 or 10) is drawn before the Powerball winning numbers. The Power Play 10X multiplier applies only to drawings with jackpot amounts of $40 million to $150 million.
Lottery games may be purchased using a debit card where accepted by retailers (not all retailers accept debit cards). Lottery tickets can never be purchased with a credit card.
Play Multiple Drawings
Purchase up to 13 weeks (26 drawings) in advance with Advance Play. Just check the Advance Play box on the Playslip or ask your retailer for it. You’ll play the same numbers for all drawings.
Check Your Winnings
Have winning numbers sent to your cell phone or email address: sign up for MyLottery. Winning numbers are also available from retailers, your local newspaper, on the late news on some television stations, and right here!
*Powerball officials may reduce prize levels for Powerball and/or Power Play, including the Match 5+0 prize, when the number of winner claims exceed the available prize fund for a given draw. In this instance, dollars allocated to each prize level impacted will be divided equally among all winners. To play Powerball, select 5 from 69 numbers and 1 out of 26 numbers for the Powerball, and check back on Wednesday and Saturday nights to see if you won!

Powerball Jackpot Winners
Powerball jackpot winners are encouraged to claim their prize at the Denver Claim Center.
Seek financial advice before claiming the jackpot prize; consider these questions:
Cash or Annuity?
Do you want to receive your prize in the form of an annuity (a series of fixed payments paid at regular intervals over a specified period), or in one lump sum payment? The cash value of the jackpot is approximately 50 percent of the advertised, estimated (annuitized) jackpot. If you choose an annuity, you’ll be paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years. Subsequent annuity payments will be made yearly close to the anniversary date of the claim. The choice you make is binding and irrevocable. You have 60 days from the date your ticket is validated to decide how to be paid.
What’s the best way to share a prize?
If you decide to “split” the prize, one person is designated as the prize recipient, signs the winning Powerball ticket, and distributes the money.
Where will you put your money?
There are FDIC regulations that need to be considered when depositing large sums of money. Contact your financial institution for more information.
